Welcome to the Assiniboia Centennial Website!

The community is excited to be planning the centennial celebrations for Assiniboia - all happening August of 2012. Originally, it all began when the CPR rail line laid a path across south central Saskatchewan back in 1912. Named after the Aboriginals (Plains Objiwa) meaning "one who cooks with stones", Assiniboia has grown into a thriving, vibrant community that provides many products and services for the south.

We welcome you back to the "Heart of the Golden South" to reminisce, visit family and meet up with old and new friends to celebrate the 100th Birthday of Assiniboia!

Mark your calendars and Register Early!
